Anders Johansen, professor in Astronomy at Lund University, has been chosen to be Wallenberg Scholar.
The Wallenberg Scholar program focuses on Sweden's leading senior researchers. It was implemented because researchers need long-term funding without the distraction of pressure to secure external grants in order to carry out world-class research. The grant can be freely used for research for five years with no restrictions. After the end of the grant period, the research is evaluated by an international panel of experts, and the best researchers are awarded a further five-year grant.
