Alice Ohlson is one of this year's recipients of the Excellent Teaching Practitioner (ETP) distinction, which was presented at a ceremony held at the Astronomy Building on 30 August.
In its citation, the Faculty highlights her student-centred approach to teaching. Alice Ohlson's educational practice is founded on the conviction that what matters most is not what the teacher says, but what the student learns. By combining a strong focus on student learning with insights from educational research, she continuously develops both teaching and assessment.
The Faculty also emphasises her work to strengthen the alignment between learning outcomes, teaching activities and assessment through the principles of constructive alignment. Beyond her teaching, she is actively involved in the development of physics education through course design, laboratory teaching and initiatives aimed at encouraging young people to pursue higher education and the natural sciences.
