Neutrinos in the Era of Multi-Messenger Astronomy
With Professor Irene Tamborra, Nils Bohr Institute, Denmark.
Professor Tamborra will tell us about her fascinating work in the boarderland between astronomy and particle physics.
Abstract
Neutrinos are fascinating elementary particles heralding the dawn of the multi-messenger astronomy era. Neutrinos affect the stellar dynamics, drive the formation of new elements, and carry signatures of the yet mysterious physics ruling some among the most powerful cosmic fireworks. Recent developments on the role of neutrinos in cosmic sources will be reviewed together with the most exciting multi-messenger detection prospects.
This is a Lund Observatory seminar at Mötesplats Rydberg.
