Secondary school students from 38 countries will gather in Lund to compete in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament – a competition that trains future scientists in problem-solving, teamwork and communication.

From 29 June to 5 July, Lund University will host the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT), one of the world’s most prestigious physics competitions for secondary school students. Throughout the week, teams from 38 countries will engage in so-called “physics battles”, where they present and defend their solutions to 17 challenging physics problems in front of a jury.

The problems are tackled during the school year, and the tournament focuses on developing essential skills such as critical thinking, scientific communication and collaboration. For over 30 years, the IYPT has contributed to shaping the next generation of scientists, engineers and leaders.

The event will take place at Fysicum and Forum Medicum in Lund and will involve nearly 500 people, including a large number of local volunteers.
