Dedicated, pedagogical and popular - that's how two of the Department of Physics' teachers are described by the students themselves. Andreas Ehn and Kristina Eriksson Stenström have both been awarded Teacher of the Year by their respective student sections at the Faculty of Engineering, LTH.

Andreas Ehn - Teacher of the Year 2024/2025, I-section

Andreas Ehn, senior lecturer and researcher at the Division of Combustion Physics, has been named Teacher of the Year for the academic year 2024/2025 by the I-section (Industrial Engineering and Management).

Andreas teaches, among other things, the course Energy and Environmental Physics and is praised by the students for his thoughtful pedagogy, warmth and great commitment:

‘Andreas puts the students' interest first and focuses on reducing stress, worry and anxiety for everyone.’
‘There is no one else who is as helpful, kind or concerned about the success of us students.’
‘No matter how stupid questions you ask, he goes through them to help you.’
‘Andreas makes going to the morning lecture a pleasant experience.’

Andreas on the award:
- ‘It's a great honour and I really enjoy working with the whole group of students who have impressive capabilities and high ambitions. We have worked hard together all spring to learn physics and engineering and about how our world and energy conversion works. It has been extremely fun and inspiring.

Kristina Eriksson Stenström - Teacher of the Year, F-section

Kristina Eriksson Stenström, Professor at the Division of Particle and Nuclear Physics, has been awarded Teacher of the Year by the F-section - a non-profit association for students in the programmes Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics and Engineering Nanoscience.

The students emphasise Kristina's way of making the lectures exciting and inclusive. She is described as clear, committed and very keen for everyone to understand. Among other things, interactive mentometer competitions are used as a way to arouse commitment and joy in the classroom.

Kristina on the award:
- ‘I was so happy to receive this award, it is a very valuable recognition. And I get to go to the ball! The Section has invited me and my husband to the Section Ball in September - I'm really looking forward to it!
